Holyn Handley reemerged as the outright leader by one stroke after a back-and-forth battle with Eveliina Salonen all day on Saturday. Isaac Robinson, the defending champion, remained unfazed as he carries the lead yet again.
Handley started as strong as possible — 3-for-3 — before trouble hit early but she rallied, closing with three birdies down the stretch to grab a one-stroke lead over Salonen, who had an up-and-down round of her own.
The gap between the two at the top, which was seven entering Saturday, shrank ever so slightly.
Kat Mertsch had a 5-under round to remain in solo third place, four behind Salonen and five behind Handley. Natalie Ryan will round out the lead card with a 12-under total, eight behind Handley.
Kristin Tattar had the hot round of the day at 6-under with a double and single bogey and will look to apply as much pressure as possible nine strokes back entering Sunday's finale.
Like Handley, Robinson had the bumpiest start of his steady week but, also like the FPO leader, rallied for a 6-under round, capped by a birdie on 18 to take a three-stroke lead into the final 18 in his quest for back-to-back PDGA World titles.
Niklas Anttila had the hot round of 9-under to jump into solo second place, two ahead of Calvin Heimburg. 18-year-old Luke Taylor scrapped his way into the final lead card spot and sits in solo fourth, six back of Robinson.
Get ready for a thriller to cap 2024 PDGA Pro Worlds.
