2024 European Open — Round 1 Recap
The highly anticipated PDGA Major 2024 European Open is finally underway and on the challenging Monster layout at the Tampere Disc Golf Center in Tampere, Finland, it’s been a battle for birdies all the way though.
No players have managed to play bogey free, but in the FPO division, Kristin Tattar has picked up where she left off after winning the DGPT Europe Elite Series Krokhol Open last weekend.

With just a single bogey for the round she is now 9-under with a four-stroke lead to Eveliina Salonen in second place.
At 4-under, Missy Gannon is in third a single stroke in front of Henna Blomroos and two strokes ahead of Paige Pierce. These six players are they only ones who managed to finish the opening round — and the debut of The Monster track at the Major level — under par.
In the MPO division, the top of the leaderboard is dominated by American players, with Randon Latta and Chris Dickerson tied for first with 7-under rounds. They are closely followed by Andrew Miranda at 6-under, with both Paul McBeth and Ricky Wysocki at 5-under for the round.
Seven Europeans made their way to the Top 10 and they are are: Väinö Mäkelä, Silver Lätt, Jakub Knápek, Niklas Anttila, Roland Kõur, Hjalte Jensen and Teemu Talikainen all finishing the first round with 3-under.
But there are still three more rounds to play with one more run through The Monster before action shifts to The Beast for the weekend, so everything is still open in Europe.
