Jenkins and McBeth Win the Aussie Open
Jenkins and McBeth Win the Aussie Open
A High Koala-ty Event
The 2015 Aussie Open came to a close today under a big, beautiful Australian sky. Many of the locals came out to see exactly what this sport was all about, and they were treated not only to some great competition, but the true camaraderie that is the very foundation of this great game we all love.
We would like to congratulate our winners: Arana Kenyon in the Advanced Women’s division, Rami Roppo in the Advanced division, Kiwi Simon Feasey winning the Masters title, Valarie Jenkins once again a champion in the Women’s Open division and none other than Paul McBeth winning his 7th Major title and his 4th out of the last 5 Majors outside of the states.
For those who made the long trek over to the island and for the many locals who were our gracious hosts, thank you. The first Major Championship in the southern hemisphere was an astounding success. Nothing could have taken away from the special feeling that this event exudes, not even a bit of heat or tricky playing conditions. The Australian people are some of the nicest in the world, and if you’ve been here there is no doubt you have experienced culture and hospitality at its finest.
Check back in for a full recap of the final round, but in the meantime, a full listing of the scores can be seen on pdga.com. We look forward to the return of the Aussie Open in January of 2017, but until then, we’re on our way back to the States for the start of the National Tour season. Hooroo (see you soon)!
