Big Stone Gap DGC... A.K. Fraley Park... Duck Park... these are all names that you may hear this course be called, but I can assure you, they are one in the same. It can get pretty confusing trying to find this course because of all the different names that are used to describe it, but once you find it, you will have a good time. This is a 9 hole beginner friendly course. It's mostly open with a few baskets placed near wooded areas to give it some form of difficulty. Most of the holes are short, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are bad holes. If you play the course with all walking paths and roads OB, it can be fairly challenging. This is not one of those courses that you are going to run out and tell your friends they must play, but definitely hit this course up if you are near the area. Great for a quick 9 holes or even loop it twice for 18. As I said, this may not be the most challenging course, but it is fun for sure. In addition to the walking paths and roads I mentioned earlier, there are also a couple holes that play adjacent to a river as well. If a lefty turns over a backhand or a righty throws something with too much overstability, you could definitely find the water here. Nice tee signs, concrete tees, and nice baskets top this course off to make it a very enjoyable experience. If you want to see this course on video, check out the video below that shows off all 9 holes plus another nearby course.
