There’s a reason fans refer to this week’s tour stop in Arizona as the “Mc”morial.

HENDERSON, Nev. – Dustin Keegan’s 2017 season ended in pain.

The 1007-rated Oregon pro battled a shoulder injury for much of the summer – his right bicep shifted without tearing, he said, with the ensuing nerve damage sending referral pain shooting down his arm  – and he when he finally returned home in October he was unsure it would ever heal.

“It was hard,” Keegan said. “All offseason I didn’t touch a disc right-handed for three months, and then I learned how to play left-handed. I got a left-handed hole in one.”

HENDERSON, Nev. – Jesse Adams is playing in his first career PDGA National Tour event, and with that came an 8:32 a.m. tee time Thursday at the Las Vegas Challenge.

By 5 p.m., when all of disc golf’s biggest names finally exited Wildhorse Golf Club after a day of abysmal conditions, Adams’ unofficially 1075-rated 10-under par 48 still stood up as the top performance.

This past weekend Nikko Locastro won the Stockholm Discgolf Open for the second year in a row, powering his way to a 9-throw victory and a remarkable 1089-rated final round. Markus Källström and Paul Ulibarri tied for second, followed by Will Schusterick and Paul McBeth.

In the Women’s division, Paige Pierce cruised to a 13-throw victory while Ragna Bygde, Staci Pauly, and Angelica Frantz rounded out the top four within a stroke of each other. Sweden’s number one rated player, Camilla Jernberg, was slowed by a shoulder injury and finished fifth.

Two hundred and sixteen players from thirteen countries entered the event and more than half of the field was from outside Sweden.

Congratulations to the 2010 Vibram Open Champion Nikko Locastro, who never shot worse than a 1056-rated round of 55 during the three tournament rounds. Tied with Matt Orum entering the 18th and final hole, Nikko's victory wasn't assured until he scored a birdie 3 on the 650-ft. pro par four 18th hole, while Matt's upshot sailed into the out-of-bounds surrounding the island green and resulted in a score of bogey 5. With a final tally of 163 throws (17 under par) Nikko claims his first National Tour victory of 2010.
