Missy Gannon is in a good spot, mentally and on the course. Lisa Fajkus turned in another solid round and is two strokes back. Kristin Tattar didn’t have the best finish but is only three strokes back. Paige Pierce had the hottest round and will join the lead card.

In MPO, Anthony Barela and Gannon Buhr survived Northwood Black and maintain their spots on the top of the leaderboard. They’re joined by Ricky Wysocki as the third co-leader. Paul McBeth had the hottest round and will join the lead card.

Welcome to the weekend at the DGPT – Discraft Ledgestone Open presented by Bushnell.

There’s pressure everywhere in the Peoria, Illinois area, from the top of the leaderboards with Gannon up by two strokes and a three-way tie in MPO with McBeth a stroke back all the way to the cut line heading into moving day.

Both divisions will get a chance to run it back at Friday’s courses. FPO wraps up at Sunset Hills and MPO tackles Northwood Black once again.

Gannon was one off Pierce’s hot-round mark of 9-under with an 8-under 53 to build a two-stroke lead. It was particularly strong off the tee for Gannon, who is tops in fairway hits (88%) and both circles in regulation. She’s second in strokes gained tee-to-green at 10.60.

Tattar had built a three-stroke lead over Fajkus and four stroke lead over Gannon through five holes but by hole 13, Gannon tied things up amid a 6-of-7 birdie run.

“I didn’t know what the scores were because you’ve just got to get birdies out here and minimize mistakes,” Gannon said. “Having the box the last few holes definitely helped me feel confident and comfortable.”

Survival was thrown around when it came to talking about the back-to-back rounds at Northwood Black. Buhr, who had a two-stroke lead entering the day, and Barela did just that.

Barela got off to a strong start and Buhr had a rollercoaster of a day and both did just enough to maintain their spot on the lead card.

They’ll be joined by Paul and Rick.

Wysocki had just one bogey on a day where no one in the field turned in a clean scorecard. He finished with birdies on 17 and 18 to jump seven spots into the three-way tie.

A few cards behind, McBeth opened on an absolute tear with birdies on six of the first seven holes. He stalled near the turn with five-straight birdies — all coming with circle 2 looks — before bouncing back from his only bogey with a make from 40 feet. A birdie on 17 gave him a share of the course record at 60, matching Kyle Klein from Northwood Black’s debut a year ago.

McBeth is first in fairway hits, circle 2 in regulation, parked and second in strokes gained tee-to-green at 14.67. However, he’s 113th in C1X putting, 111th in C2 putting and 113th in strokes gained putting, according to UDisc.

Matthew Orum joins McBeth at 12-under, just one stroke back of the leaders.

The projected cut line sits at plus-1 for MPO (top 60 plus ties) and plus-2 for FPO (top 25 plus ties).

Buckle up, it’s the weekend at Ledgestone.
