The battle for the Heatland Open sponsored by Kastaplast and a PDGA Euro Tour title came down to the very end.

In the FPO field, literally the very end.

Amanda Lennartsson carded a birdie three on the 54th hole of the weekend to grab a one stroke win to cap a wild day at Kalhyttans DiscGolfBana in Filipstad, Sweden.

The final round, which was set up by a back-and-forth battle through the first two rounds, featured a number of lead changes between Lennartsson, Sofie Björlycke, who had a two-stroke lead entering Sunday, and Anniken Steen, who won on the PDGA Euro Tour a week ago.

But it was Lennartsson, who first played in a PDGA sanctioned tournament in 2021, grabbing three birdies down the stretch and capitalizing with one more birdie on hole 18 with a circle two putt for her second overall win and first on the EuroTour, netting her a €2,000 payout.

Björlycke, the reigning Swedish champion in both FPO and FP40, finished second, one stroke back with a plus-7 total on the wooded and tough track. Steen, who had the hot round of the final day and erased a four-stroke deficit quickly on the front nine, grabbed a podium finish with a plus-8 total.

On the MPO side, youth was served.

With the hot round of 52, which matched the best score of the weekend in Filipstad, 16-year-old Elias Luukkonen stormed to a four-stroke win over Håkon Kveseth and a five-stroke win over Pekka Hyvönen, who is also a young, rising star in Sweden.

Luukkonen and Hyvönen were tied entering the final round of action, but Luukkonen took off with a clean 4-under front nine. He sparked a solid finish with an eagle on the 180-meter par four 10th, the only two of the weekend on the hole, and added back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 for a clean, bogey free round that checks in with an unofficial 1042 rating.

Kveseth finished with five birdies over his final seven holes for a second-place finish. Hyvönen was third, five strokes back at 17-under par.
