Powerplay Productions capturing the Scottish Masters, PDGA Euro Tour #2

Powerplay Productions, a new local media team from Glasgow was on site to film the MP40 lead card today and tomorrow, the final day. Play-by-play coverage will be released on their YouTube channel next week along with interviews and additional content.

The masters-only event creates a special environment both on and off the course. Laughter and small talk can be heard amongst the diverse list of European players; something in the air makes this event special.

Despite the remains of a major storm which completely destroyed parts of the course a few months go, the local organizers worked wonders to get the course into competition condition, clearing remains of hundred-year-old trees to ensure a safe and playable course.

Day 2 Action

Big drama can be expected in FP40 where Natalie Höllokoi had a slim lead through the first two rounds until the final hole of round two when Melanie Meuter threw a fantastic approach from out of position to directly under the basket for a tap in birdie. Höllokoi was unable to answer the heroics from Meuter, hitting the very last tree and scoring a bogey, inviting Melanie to tie her before the final this Sunday.

Ken Nelson is keeping the lead in MP40 after a bogey-free round, with a two shot lead over Estonian Sören Vetevool, who couldn't keep his scorecard clean on the longest par three on the course, hole 13. The two highest rated players, local favorite Iain McDougall and Estonian Marko Narits are not without chances, but will have to keep it clean on the final day, avoiding high numbers especially on their nemesis holes - wooded 2 for Iain and water hole 15 for Marko, who drowned two discs today there.

Derek Robins continues to build his lead going into round three. He will be looking for a way to go clean through the front nine, where he managed to miraculously save a par today on the short but tough hole six. After hitting a tree early on a drive, he pulled a driver for a 35-meter upshot and laced an impossible flex through all the trees remaining between him and the basket for a safe five-meter par putt, ending a three-hole bogey struggle.

Final round action continues tomorrow on the beautiful Bluebell Woods course in Dunbar. Follow along at PDGALive.com.
