Throw Stats feature now live for A-Tiers in 2024
It's time to keep those fairway hits and putting stats.
Beginning this weekend, the PDGA Technology and Event Support Team are thrilled to announce that the Throw Stats functionality on PDGA Live will be available for PDGA A-Tier events for the rest of 2024 and beyond. This update promises to enhance the experience for players, fans, and organizers alike by providing comprehensive and real-time data for all participants.
Key Highlights
- Real-Time Throw Statistics: Detailed player stats will be updated live during all A-Tier events, offering insights into performance metrics such as putting distances, driving accuracy, and more.
- Improved Player Insights: Players will benefit from detailed performance data, helping them refine their strategies and improve their game.
- Seamless Integration: This optional feature seamlessly integrates into our existing PDGA Live application, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience for all participants.
“We are excited to bring Throw Tracking capabilities as seen at Elite and Major events this year to more PDGA tournaments and members," said Andy Rothschild of the PDGA Event Support Team. "Expanding this feature from events that fans of the sport follow at home to A-Tiers that those same fans play in is the first step in rolling out this capability for all to enjoy.”

What to Expect
- Players participating in one of the 70-plus A-tier events on the schedule for the remainder of this season are not obligated to keep throwing stats during the round. However, we hope that players find this aspect of competition exciting and intuitive and will enter throwing stats as they play their round.
- Stats must be entered prior to turning in the scorecard for the round. Stat correction is not a feature at this time, so please ensure accuracy and completeness before submitting your scorecard.
- Players can learn how to keep their own stats here.
- Errors or bugs can be reported or resolved by contacting: statkeeping@pdga.com
- FAQs involving Throw Stats can be found here.
- Tournament Directors are not obligated to offer this functionality at their events and will be given an “opt out” period to have stats turned off. If you are a TD of an A-tier event, please contact: eventsupport@pdga.com
Full Statkeeping in Use Today
The use of stats has been a feature that debuted earlier this year at the Chess.com Invitational presented by Discraft on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Players and Statkeepers alike have been using this system at Elite and Major competitions throughout 2024.
Select trial events also tracked stats throughout the year, including the OTB Open presented by MVP Disc Sports – Amateur event contested in May. The use of this platform is part of the PDGA’s commitment to bring top tier disc golf experiences to all members and participants of PDGA events.
During the remainder of the 2024 season, we hope to see the thousands of players registered for A-Tier events use this great feature and help the PDGA refine this system further.
