After completing a wire-to-wire win, Patrick Brown got a little emotional on the 18th green at Harmony Bends.

All the practice, the patience and the lessons learned boiled over after taking down the title in MP50 at the 2021 PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Championship.

“It feels really good – these things are not easy to come by,” said Brown, after finishing what would be a four-stroke victory. “I’m happy, a little at a loss for words and a little emotional.

“Once, twice a year you get a chance at a win like this.”

Brown was one of 22 Major champions crowned this week in Columbia, Missouri.

All of them put in the work to hoist that trophy at the end.

A look at the champions:

  • Brown set the pace early in the week and was in firm control in MP50. Barry Schultz finished second, four strokes back. Jay Reading was third at 26-under and Jonathan Baldwin jumped to fourth with the hot round of 58 on Sunday at Harmony Bends.
  • Barrett White staged a third-round comeback and rolled from there to grab a five-stroke win over Nova Politte in FP50.
  • In MP55, Doug Williams used his third round to build just enough of a cushion for a one-stroke win over Dean Tannock and Thomas Hausmann.
  • It was the final 18 holes that sprung Oklahoma’s Eric Rainey to a three-stroke win over Gregg Hosfeld after the two set out at Harmony Bends on Sunday tied at the top.
  • A 990-rated third round set up a commanding eight-stroke victory in MP65 for Randy Beers, who walked in his title at Albert Oakland Park on Sunday.
  • Laurie Cloyes-Chupa completed the Masters sweep in 2021 in FP65, adding a Selinske title to her USWDGC and Worlds wins. It was the same for Dr. Rick Voakes, who is a world champion and U.S. champion in MP70.
  • Pete May added to his collection with a two-stroke win over Barry Fischer in MP75.
  • On the amateur side, Scott Houska completed a wire-to-wire victory with a commanding win in MA40, as did Meg Sapp, who won by five strokes over Sarah Hibbs in FA40.
  • Sam Dodd, the reigning MA55 World Champion, will need a bigger trophy case in Arkansas to add his MA50 title. Dodd won by 13 strokes.
  • In FA50, Debbie Polkinghorne buckled down on the final 18 and won the FA50 title by three strokes over Caryn Shearer. Polkinghorne had the hot round by two strokes in the finale.
  • Same for James Elkins, whose 49 on Sunday lifted him to a five-stroke win over Jerry Dobbins in MA55.
  • Joe Jaegers saved his best for last in the 23-player MA60 field with the hot round of 52 to jump to a two-stroke win over Mark Hauser and a three-stroke win over Don Krueger.
  • Don Altmyer and Donald Parker completed their work early and rolled to big wins in MA65 and MA70, respectively.
