2022 Champions Cup Invitation Criteria

Last updated: Tuesday, February 1, 2022 - 11:30

The PDGA Majors Committee has established a preliminary list of premier disc golf events that will serve as automatic qualifiers for the inaugural PDGA Champions Cup, set to take place April 14-17, 2022, at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia. The field size will be limited to 100 MPO and 40 FPO. Registration will be offered in tiers and will be based on PDGA player ratings once invited players have had an opportunity to register.

The list includes champions from all 2021 PDGA Elite Series events, comprised of five PDGA National Tour and 11 Disc Golf Pro Tour stops, as well as all MPO/FPO Majors, including Pro Worlds, the United States Disc Golf Championship, and the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship. The MP40/FP40 winners of the PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships are also invited to attend.

Due to travel restrictions in 2021 related to the Covid-19 pandemic, also included will be the MPO and FPO champions from select international events. These events include several National Championships and other top level international competitions, as well as the FA1 and MA1 champions from premier amateur events including PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships, USWDGC, the United States Amateur Disc Golf Championships and the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Championship.
