PDGA Women's Global Event Postponed

Wednesday, March 18, 2020 - 12:48

Due to the uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent PDGA Board of Directors’ decision to suspend PDGA sanctioning of events through March 31, 2020, the PDGA Women’s Global Event on May 9 has been postponed indefinitely.

“Though this event falls outside the current 15-day suspension window, the COVID-19 situation is affecting different countries with different timings,” PDGA Women’s Committee Chair Elaine King said. “The whole point of the WGE is to enable women and girls across the world to be playing disc golf at the same time. Once the pandemic subsides we will set a date that will allow players in all countries to participate in the celebration."

“The PDGA Women's Committee sends their best wishes to all impacted by the pandemic,” King continued. “We look forward to holding the biggest-ever WGE in the future.”

If you ordered players’ packs, a PDGA staff member will be in touch within 72 hours to discuss issuing a refund, or you can email memberships@pdga.com. More information can be found in our list of PDGA COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions.

A new date for the PDGA Women’s Global Event will be announced when it is available.
