Disciplinary Policy Process Reminder

Tuesday, August 9, 2022 - 14:07

At all PDGA-sanctioned events, all participants are required to adhere to the Official Rules of Disc Golf and the Competition Manual for Disc Golf Events. These rules and competition standards govern all aspects of play and conduct at a PDGA event, including player behavior.

The Professional Disc Golf Association reserves the right to determine and enforce disciplinary action. The PDGA Board of Directors has established the Disciplinary Committee to investigate and make recommendations in dealing with specific disciplinary matters. The Committee must be fair and consistent when sanctions are necessary, and it must not be arbitrary and capricious in its rulings.

The PDGA Disciplinary Policy and process is upheld by the Board of Directors. Current disciplinary cases are listed on the PDGA website, and only include the name of the member, the class of the offense, and the length of the penalty, in order to protect the anonymity of the process.

The disciplinary committee is made up of PDGA members and operates independent of the PDGA office staff. This is designed to ensure that the PDGA staff can continue to provide unbiased services to members during the process.

The specifics of each case are not for public consumption, as the details are kept between the member and the Disciplinary Committee.
